About

Who are the Christian Union?

The University of Salford Christian Union is a student led mission team operating at the very heart of the University of Salford. We exist for one reason – to share the good news of the gospel to a generation without Jesus and without hope.

We are a mission team

Any mission team needs time to prepare, train and pray together. This is done through our CU main meeting. This ‘team time’ is central to our evangelistic effectiveness as a group. It enables us to refocus on God, to grow in our understanding of the gospel and to apply scripture to our student culture. Our weekly meeting is the Mission Team Meeting for prayer, for receiving training or teaching relevant to student witness, for supporting one another, for planning together, with a view to going out and spreading the good news.

We are committed to the gospel

The gospel forms the core convictions of our life and ministry. The gospel is the basis of our unity, the foundation of our ministry, the content of our message and the fuel for our evangelism. We LOVE the gospel!

We are student led

UCCF Christian Unions are committed to student leadership as a principle. Students really are best placed to reach other students for Christ.

We are inter-denominational

We are made up of students ‘sent’ out from local churches. Believers drawn from many diverse church backgrounds, committed to working together in gospel unity be they charismatic, conservative, etc.
